Ride the Best Trails Tahoe Has to Offer!
Our Upper School Mountain Biking Team is back for another fun, fast, and challenging season, riding the best trails that Tahoe and Truckee have to offer! This team is all about building MTB skills, developing physical and mental stamina, and enjoying the adventure of exploring nature with friends.
Mountain biking is a lifelong, healthy pursuit that anyone with an interest should have the chance to enjoy. This season, the program has shifted from XC racing to focus primarily on enduro riding while incorporating elements of XC riding as well.
Details
Who: This TEAm is designed for 7th to 12th grade student-athletes who attend TEA.
When:
- Fall Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3pm – 530pm in Sept and Oct. All practices are scheduled on the School Calendar – linked here.
- Spring – April and May practice schedule is TBA based on trail and rider availability.
Where: Rides will vary to keep practices fresh. The team typically rides DonkeyTown, Tahoe Rim Trail, Flume, 06, Big Chief, TDXC and other fun, challenging single track trails. In the Spring ride may shift to Reno. Ride schedules will be communicated prior to each practice week. Parents pick up from the ride trailhead. Parents with an expertise in mountain biking are welcome to join on rides.

Athlete Expectations: All team members will read, sign and follow TEA’s Student Athlete Expectations Agreement.
Equipment: Students must provide the following: Front or full suspension mountain bike, bike helmet, gloves, hydration system and personal bike repair kit. Dress for riding and weather.

Scholarships – It is our goal to ensure that programs are available to every student and family – program costs should not deter participation.
