Cross Country Running
Single Track Mountain Trails + Healthy Exercise
Competitive XC Running is open to both Middle School AND High School student-athletes! Athletes in 5th – 8th grade will compete in the Tah-Neva League, while athletes in grades 9th -12th will compete in the CIF (California Interscholastic Federation).
This is as classic a fall sport as you will find in Tahoe and right here at TEA. Student-athletes will train on the MVEF Campus trails, as well as nearby trails at XC centers, off the 06 and in Martis Valley.
Details
Who: The XC Running TEAm is for student-athletes in 5th to 12th grade.
- Middle School TEAm: 5th – 8th grade student-athletes. MS XC Running is governed and organized by the Tah-Neva League, which governs interscholastic sports in Tahoe and thru Carson Valley.
- High School TEAm: 9th – 12 grade student-athletes. This is our second year in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Students will train with the middle school and compete in CIF meets.
When: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 3:00pm – 4:30pm, beginning September 9. Meets are typically once a week. See calendar here for specific dates.
- MS Race Schedule – September 13, 20, 27, October 3 and 17 (MS Championship Meet)
- HS Race Schedule – September 14, 28, October 3, 18, and 21.
Where: Practices will take place on campus trails and nearby trails.
Coaches: Alex Peugnet, Hannah Ellis, and other TEAcher coaches.
Athlete Expectations: Space is limited, committed student-athletes only. Committed means 100% attendance for practices and events. All TEAm members will understand, sign and follow the Student Athlete Expectations Agreement.
Equipment: Athletic clothing and trail running shoes, dress for the weather. TEA will provide branded XC running uniforms for meets.
TEAm Size: 20 student-athletes per team.
