TEA Students Visit Senior Center to Share Music
This week in music, grades 4-6, we visited the Sierra Senior Center. Students were broken into groups where they interviewed an elder and discovered their musical tastes and background.
This week in music, grades 4-6, we visited the Sierra Senior Center. We have been studying the film ‘Alive Inside‘ a journey of music and Alzheimer’s/Dementia. The film explores how music helps many people suffering from these conditions access memories which would otherwise be unavailable.
Students were broken into groups where they interviewed an elder and discovered their musical tastes and background. In our follow up visit we will be delivering mp3 players with some of their favorite musical pieces from their specific generations!
