TEA Students Go To Iceland to Study Geothermal Power
What are all of the natural hazards present to Icelanders and how are their risks mitigated? What is the geologic history of how it was formed? What is happening underneath Iceland that contributes to their geothermal power?
A group of TEA high school students traveled to Iceland so they could identify the multiple different timescales at which Iceland’s natural landscape is changing. They also hoped to explain the feasibility of applying Iceland’s geothermal energy model to volcanically inactive area like Truckee, CA.
