Community Campus Update
This is the most unique opportunity in the history of TEA!
In the spirit of our May character trait of Appreciation, we wanted to share some exciting news about recent progress the School has made with the Martis Valley Education Foundation, the current owners of our 42-acre campus. Last weekend, we announced some incredible news at the TEA Gala and we want to make sure everyone in our TEA family is up to speed. For the first time, we have the opportunity to purchase our beloved campus and ensure the School’s long-term feasibility for generations to come. In short, this is the most unique opportunity in the history of TEA! Here are the specifics:
- We have officially entered into a signed mutual purchase agreement to buy the Martis Valley Campus in its entirety from MVEF.
- Owning the campus allows us to enhance our kids’ experience, providing a second home in a stable, long-term situation.
- The original goals of the campus, as a vehicle to our world-class teaching, as a second home for students, faculty, and staff, and as a community resource for the Tahoe Basin, are all possible with this purchase.
- We’re raising $15 million this summer to secure the land and begin planning for next steps.
- We need everyone’s help to make this a reality – please let either of us know if you have leads or ideas, share our opportunity as much as you can, and keep an eye out for further updates.
Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and support. This community only exists because of the energy and spirit of our students and all of you. Please feel free to reach out to either of us if you have any questions.
With gratitude,
David & LT
