The debate on gun control vs. gun rights is escalating to unprecedented levels in America. A spate of recent mass shootings in the United States has ignited an emotional response to the issue of gun rights, usage, and control in virtually all Americans. Through this intensive, students had the opportunity to examine this extremely controversial issue through multiple lenses. By investigating the legal differences in current gun laws in California and Nevada, speaking with individuals who use guns professionally and recreationally as well as individuals invested in increases in gun control, students began to shape their own evaluations and opinions of the nuances of this debate.
