Tahoe Expedition Academy 10th grader Jacob Villaman created this video after our fall expedition entitled “Flowing with Water: Stewarding the Vital Compound for Life” which looked at the importance of conserving our water and keeping our oceans clean. For their Final Product, students created videos to submit to the San Francisco Oceanographic Film Festival. In order to gather information for this project, Jacob was inspired by the work of the 5 Gyres Institute and from meeting and speaking with Anna Cummins and Erik Larsen, who are the founders and leaders of this worldwide project. Anna and Erik were so excited with Jacob’s video and gave him props for contributing to this environmental issue.
